For those reading this that haven't seen Obama's pastor of 20 years, and his "God Damn America" rant, it can be found at YouTube and is shown below: Barack Obama has claimed he was never present during his Pastor's rants. Back to the Rasmussen report, most voters, 56 percent, said Wright's comments made them less likely to vote for Obama. That figure includes 44 percent of Democrats. Just 11 percent of voters say they are more likely to vote for Obama because of Wright's comments.
Tomorrow Barack Obama is planning to give a speech on "the larger issue of race in this campaign," he told reporters in Monaca, PA. Worrisome for Obama supporters is that, although he is denouncing Wright's specific words in the clip, he is trying to defend the man himself by making comments like, "The caricature that's being painted of him is not accurate." Nobody put those words in Jeremiah Wright's mouth. Nobody dubbed them in. He said them and Barack Obama is losing ground in favorability already, in the short amount of time this story has been on fire in the media and blogosphere, and until he gets out in front of this and stops making excuses and stops trying to "explain" those comments of his pastor and simply distances himself as far and as fast as possible, those Rasmussen numbers and well as other polling organizations figures, are showing what the trend will be. Obama's 'spiritual mentor' says Israel is racist and to blame for 911 :: Israel MatzavRead this article on the community site Ace of Spades has a video from Fox News in which Jeremiah Wright, Barack Hussein Obama's 'spiritual mentor,' accuses Israel of Racism and being responsible for the 9/11 attacks (Hat Tip: Little Green Footballs). Arriving at democracy is a slow and ofttimes painful, but there must be a will and an incentive to start that process. Democracy is far from perfect and there will always be those elements who'll figure out just how to take advantage of it for their own selfish ends. To quote Winston Churchill, "Democracy is a terrible system, but it's the best we got!" Until the world is mostly democratic there will always be threats of some political ogre arising to subdue his neighboring countries and eventually the rest of the free world. The best defense the West has against being taken over is by fostering the ideas of democracy not just in the West, but by nurturing the fledgling movements that are starting to be heard within the Islamic world proposing a democratization of government, more rights and equality for all. It may not seem financially wise in the short run to defy those entrenched in power within the Islamic world. However, a dispassioned look at oil politics, will convince anyone who cares to keep to use one's analytic mind and eyes open that the oil potentates and assorted despots need the Western money at least as much as the West needs oil. To act upon such a premise takes courage, a lack of greed, the strength to envision and act on a better future. In the short run it may difficult to change the policy of bowing and kowtowing to those who control the oil. A safe future, a better world for our descendants demands it, however. Are there courageous individuals, are there any politicians who are strong and idealistic enough to fight for what is right, for a change? Or is every Western politician more interested in getting his/her pockets filled while the people's future is sold? Chaim More Proof That The Palestinian Don't Want Peace :: Yid With LidRead this article on the community site You can tell alot about a people by who they support. For example when Ehud Barak was Prime Minister of Israel the people grew tired of the constant terror attacks so public support moved to Ariel Sharon who was perceived as stronger on defense. Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas was originally elected because he was the hand picked successor of the terrorist Arafat. He talked a good game of peace but so did the pedophile he replaced. The truth is the Palestinian people do not want peace--that's why ever since he was elected Abbas support has waned and moved to Hamas. Not that Fatah is any less radical than Hamas--Hamas is just more open about it.

First, they managed to chase a young couple into the path of an oncoming truck. But there was another, more nefarious evil happening, unbelievably, in the holy Kingdom itself: Sorcery. Two Yemenis and a Sudanese man were practicing the black arts in Dhamad, Jizan. They had books and formulas showing how to cast spells, ready to do the most horrible things to innocent Muslims who stumble across their paths. Luckily, our heroes at the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice found out about these criminals and arrested them. As the Saudi Gazette reports: The three are charged with "malicious activities" to break up marriages and inflict harm on people for money. They reportedly slaughtered black sheep as part of their sorcery rituals. And once the Muttawa were done with them, the three confessed to these heinous crimes. The newspaper explains the crime of practicing "malicious magic": As per Shariah law, Saudi Arabia prohibits sorcery. "Malicious magic" is perceived to have the power to influence the mind, body or possessions and cause disease, sickness in animals, bad luck, sudden death, impotence and other such misfortunes. Truly, how fortunate the Saudi people are that they have people who put their own manhood at risk in order to save the rest of the Saudi males from magical impotence. Another stellar day for our heroes, and now Saudi men can sleep better at night knowing that they are safe from black magic. • Email to a friend • Related • Want to Meet Me (and the Duet team) at TechEd? :: DeveloperZenRead this article on the community site Microsoft finally opened up the Meetings application for TechEd at http://www.face2facemeeting.com/teched/ So, if you want to meet up and talk (about anything) just schedule a meeting :-) The easiest way to find me there is to going to the Find Participants screen See you there... This is the type of person people should try to emulate, instead of the likes of Paris Hilton and the usual bunch of knuckleheads that today's youth seem to adore. Of course, a man and woman being alone together - even in a car - is known as "khulwa" as can be punished with many lashes and a prison sentence. Our heroes at the Commission for the Promotion of Virtue and the Prevention of Vice got tipped off about this flagrant violation of human decency and started to go after the criminals. The suspects, knowing that the SUV coming after them had the distinctive style of our Muttawa heroes, decided to try to avoid being detained. Saudi law states that the Muttawa should never engage in a car chase, but should call police to arrest the criminals. Our heroes, though, knew that the police were not as efficient nor as single-minded about stamping out serious crimes like these as the members of the Commission, and it is an insult to think that the Muttawa cannot chase cars as well as any police officer.
The man's body was totally charred. The woman's body was ripped into two by the force of the impact. They were too disfigured for immediate identification. But most importantly, our heroes managed to stop a flagrant act of khulwa, and, especially, any unspeakable acts that might have followed. Jones apparently believes that all areas which were not part of Israel between 1948 and 1967 belong to the Palestinians. This contradicts UN resolution 242 (as interpreted by those who wrote it), the view of the Israeli government, and President Bush's letter to PM Sharon of April 2004. All of these agree that borders will be decided by negotiations between the parties concerned, and will not necessarily be identical with the pre-1967 cease-fire lines. Unfortunately, the idea that all of the territory that changed hands in 1967 is 'Palestinian land' is constantly repeated in anti-Israel circles and apparently this includes the US State Department. Jones also seems to think that Israel is a banana republic whose policies can be micromanaged by the US. Possibly Jones learned his skills as an assistant to Paul Bremer in the Coalition Provisional Authority, where many of the decisions were taken that resulted in the unhappy situation of the US today in Iraq. Or, when as Ambassador to Kuwait, he was alleged to have intervened on behalf of a Kuwaiti gasoline supplier which overcharged the US military $61 million. I can agree with Jones on one point: sometimes people do have to move. Take, for example, the US embassy in Tel Aviv. Technorati Tags: Richard Jones, Israel Saudi marries off his daughter, 15, to a murderer :: Elder of ZiyonRead this article on the community site An unbelievably sick story out of Saudi Arabia, reported impassively by Arab News: RIYADH, 18 March 2008 — Muhammad Al-Zahrani, a convicted murderer, was executed at the end of February in Taif. Al-Zahrani's execution, which was postponed for four years, took place after the victims' family refused to pardon him. Even the liberal Saudi expert who is against the marriage doesn't state the obvious - that it is the worst form of child abuse to force your daughter to marry a convicted murderer! And yet, according to Sharia, this is perfectly acceptable. The New York Times Magazine last Sunday had a lengthy article by Noah Feldman that talks about sharia and how it really isn't so bad, how the West isn't looking at it with enough nuance and how much better it was than English common law - in the 18th century. Perhaps he can defend this action better than the Arab News managed to. • Email to a friend • Related • Apple Gets A "New Soul" (Yael Naim) :: IsraGoodRead this article on the community site (Hat Tip: Isrealli.org) While Apple has yet to make an impact on the Israeli market, their latest commercial has propelled an unknown Jewish into "super stardom."(Jerusalem Post) Naim's English-language single, "New Soul," has been the surprise hit of early 2008, the biggest in a decade for an local artist overseas. One of the rabbis from Mercaz HaRav told me the most amazing story you'll ever hear about Doron's dedication to learning Torah, a story that competes with the Gemara's account of Hillel's near freezing on the roof of Shmaya and Avtalion's Yeshiva (see tractate Yoma, 35b).
